Tattoos detract. Never add. I'm pushing back so women are not encouraged to do it because some men "don't see a problem with tattoos" and "tattoos on a woman's feet are sexy as hell." Still, Karlie Montana's feet are beautiful despite the detraction of her unfortunate tattoos.

Thanks for the simile. We are not trying to win. What we are attempting to do (despite knowing we are going to get pushback from those who are self-absorbed), is encourage women to not to make a mistake they cannot undo. "Ladies, put on temporary tattoos if you must. (Get a dozen made so you can make them appear permanent.) Whatever you do, do not listen to people who are indifferent to consequences you alone will suffer resulting from their misguided encouragement. It is not their body, and they won't have to live with your mistake. Even they will admit not all tattoos are sexy. What happens if what you choose is not? Would you put graffiti on the "Mona Lisa" or the "Statue of David" because someone said they think it's sexy? Why listen to people who have no vested interest but their own immediate gratification? Not all advice is sound or helpful. Remember, there are people in the world who will tell you to jump off a cliff because THEY want a thrill."

They should get a tattoo if they feel it looks good, not to please or appeal to anyone, and if they want one, they shouldn't decide not to because certain people appear to be incurably allergic to them. Simple as that. Some will like it and some will not. Hopefully the ones that don't like it have the common sense to not whine about it or make such clear cut statements as "Tattoos detract. Never add." when nothing in life is ever so clear cut. It would be equally unfortunate for someone to not get a tattoo that they like because of the opinions of others as it would be for someone to get a tattoo simply because others convinced them to do so.

Why is a comment about a tattoo “whining”? It’s a comment yes it’s not supportive it’s negative, but in all of these comments there is some negativity. It’s an opinion just like supportive comments about tattoos, that’s all nothing more or less. Some like some do not.

What matters is young women making long term decisions based on self-serving opinions. Trends happen because people tend to follow the leader. The "I'm ok, you're ok whatever you do, no absolutes" attitude is why our world is in disarray. This is not about you or me or cheering or whining. This dialogue is for the ladies. Point made. They will do what they will. I've done my part. Hopefully they will rethink before following the advice of people not looking out for them."

First you bash on trends, then you proceed to follow that up with a statement that is in favor of the very thing you just bashed. You keep beating the drum of them "following the advice of people not looking out for them" as if I didn't literally say the same thing; it's bad if their opinions are swayed in either direction by people's expectations. First, just because you say I contradict myself doesn't make it so. Second, putting graffiti on magnificent art like the Mona Lisa is absolutely wrong, disproving your premise of "there are no absolutes when it comes to aesthetics." Third, saying it is up to them is not looking out for them. That would be like saying, "if you want to jump, go ahead. It is up to you." Your only argument is to claim falsely that I am "beating some drum" and that I am somehow contradicting myself. The texts speak for themselves.
